Happy Holidays From Exciting Sounds 2012

I'm back in time for the holidays!

As a tradition during the Christmas season, I compile a "mixtape" of some songs I've been enjoying as a gift for family and friends. This year, I've decided to make it available for download, which means that more people (you) can hear it. :)

I tend toward the more obscure side of vintage music --- many of the songs featured here are not available on CD or iTunes. Really though, about 50% of it is from vinyl records and the other 50% from CD rips, 70 minutes total. Most of it was originally recorded in the '50s and '60s, with maybe a song or two falling outside of those decades.

Grab it here, and see directly below for the track list.
  1. Sid Bass - The World Is Waiting For The Sunrise
  2. Sun Ra - I Could Have Danced All Night
  3. Bob Thompson - The Best Thing For You
  4. David Carroll - Let's Dance
  5. Luis E. Bacalov - Nago
  6. Harry Simeone Chorale - It's Alaska

  2. Really nice collection! I have worked in the past with Marty Gold and especially Frank Comstock and am always on the lookout for their stuff. This reminds me of some great college radio show aircheck. Perfect length for taking a much-needed nap or cleaning the house. Thank you!

  3. That's awesome you've worked with them. That era is rife with all kinds of unusual sounds, that is, if you care to look for them. Thanks for the feedback. :)
